This enjoyable simulation is based on the layout of the 1950's in the Cheltenham area. As well as the St James terminus, it includes Malvern Road, Lansdown and Landsdown Junction.
The Midland main line ran from Birmingham (New Street) through Lansdown to Bristol, with a spur to Gloucester (Eastgate). The Great Western ran from Birmingham (Snow Hill) through Malvern Road to Bristol, again with a spur to Gloucester (Central). It also had a branch through Cheltenham (South) via the Midland & South Western Junction Railway to Swindon (Town) and Andover Junction where it joined the Southern Railway.
The timetable included is based upon the BR Passenger Timetables for Summer 1961. Diesel Multiple Units had begun to arrive on the scene on local services but most trains were still steam hauled.
